A river runner, skier, canyoneerer, angler, and mountain biker, Alexis works as a Wilderness River Guide on Wild and Scenic rivers around the West. Alexis also works in the Salmon, ID emergency department and volunteers with Salmon Advanced-EMT’s when not teaching for WMTC.
A native Idahoan, Alexis has traveled internationally to deliver the WMTC curriculum to a wide variety of outdoor enthusiasts for the past six years. During her courses Alexis provides tailored anatomy and physiology lessons in combination with realistic scenarios to ensure her students graduate their course with competence and confidence in their scope of practice.
After graduating from Boise State University with a B.S. in Exercise Physiology and an EMT Certification, Alexis put her skills to use by working as a professional ski patroller, structural firefighter and EMT. Currently, Alexis is taking a sabbatical from guiding to pursue a degree and license in Paramedic Science. When not working, in school, or on a personal trip, Alexis spends her time fly fishing and in one of Idaho’s many super secret hot springs.
